About the role: To strategically lead the Sensory Team to ensure that the Council achieves its strategic aims for learners with sensory impairment and/or additional learning needs and disabilities within the legislative framework. To provide strategic leadership for specialist teachers, the habilitation specialist, HLTA and travel trainer for children and young people with sensory impairment across the county. To take a lead role in promoting and supporting inclusive education of children and young people with sensory impairment. About you: You will be a qualified teacher with additional qualifications in teaching deaf or visually impaired children and young people and have substantial experience of teaching children and young people with sensory impairment. You will have an excellent understanding of the requirements needed for children and young people with sensory impairment to successfully access and enjoy their educational provision. What you will do: As part of the Inclusion and Youth Services Management team you will contribute to the raising of attainment for all children and young people in Powys schools and settings through inclusive education. You will provide strategic leadership for specialist teachers, habilitation specialist, HLTA and travel trainer.
