Date of Appointment: By Agreement HEADTEACHER ISR 26-32 The Governing Body of Ysgol Robert Owen is inviting applications from qualified and highly experienced head teachers, who are willing to accept the challenge of this unique post and to continue the transformation of a specialist provision in a state-of-the-art new building. Having moved into the newest, purpose build special educational needs facility in September 2024, the Governing Body envisage this as a blank canvas that needs a highly experienced individual to identify and further develop this unique facility and shape special educational needs in the heart of Powys. The governors of Ysgol Robert Owen are seeking to appoint an inspirational, enthusiastic and highly committed head teacher who will lead and develop the specialist provision, learners, staff and parental/family resilience. Whilst at the same time developing links with the local and wider community and external agencies. It is essential that the individual: • puts the social and educational needs of the children and young people first and is wholeheartedly committed to improving the opportunities for all learners; • has a proven record of highly successful senior leadership in specialist provisions and is able to motivate, inspire and develop others; • has excellent interpersonal skills and can further strengthen our parental and community links; and • has the vision, drive and enthusiasm to maintain and enhance our high performing culture. Learners and governors expect prospective candidates to visit our specialist provision. During these visits, candidates will be expected to spend significant time with learners across all age groups and with the broadest of needs. Visits to our Specialist Provision can be arranged during term time until the closing date.
