About the role: The intervention worker role is to work closely with children, families and young people who are open to statutory children’s services. The intervention worker will deliver focussed interventions, preventative work and provide support to help effect positive change and improve outcomes for children and young people. To work closely with social worker’s, agencies, and services with the aim of maintaining the family unit and keeping families together where possible.About you: • Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing situations. • Have Empathy and compassion for individuals who have had adverse life experiences and still face challenges in their everyday lives. • Can work effectively and calmly in crisis and where circumstances are complex.• Need to manage your own diary. • Need to communicate effectively and can demonstrate an empathetic approach to children and parent’s needs.• Be competent in working online and recording information on an electronic data baseWhat you will do:• Supporting children and families to remain together and sustain positive change. • Assisting children and families at a time of crisis • Attending multi agency meetings and working in partnership with education, health and social work teams• Supporting Family Networks via direct work with children, young people and their families or carers• Work in accordance with solution focused and strength-based approaches. • Supporting parents and children with their emotional resilienceIf you have any questions about the role, please email cheryl.mcIntyre@powys.gov.ukor paul.morgan1@powys.gov.uk with your contact details
