About the role:Do you want to make a positive difference by working in Early Help? We work collaboratively with children, young people, and families, helping them to achieve their goals by intervening and supporting them to build confidence, resilience and the skills that enable them to problem solve and provide positive consistent parenting before problems become entrenched and more difficult to resolve. The Early Help service in Powys is a dynamic, creative, and innovative service which offers the right help at the right time to Powys children, young people, and their families. The effectiveness of Early Help is now well researched and established, we know that offering the right help at the right time can make a big difference in supporting families, improving outcomes, and keeping children and young people out of statutory services. Did you know that almost 100% of the families we work with, do not go on to have a statutory assessment within the next 6 months? We offer a range of informal and formal parenting groups and programmes as well as individual work with families who have more complex and multiple needs to prevent them from needing to have a statutory assessment/ intervention About you: Review all referrals in to early help alongside other PSWs, to ensure the right help at the right time for children, young people and families. Focusing on assisting people to resolve major difficulties in their lives and enhance their independence and coping skills. - Supervising a team of family support workers to ensure they are providing appropriate support for the family’s needs - Oversee the coordination of evidence -based parenting groups County wide. - Closely working with statutory children’s services where there is an identified need for more social work based interventions, in line with the regional threshold document. Supporting statutory children's services where there are identified families to step down for early help and intervention, including regular discussions of what support could be provided. -Continue to develop, review and improve the Early Help Service. This includes promotion of Powys Childrens Services Early Help offer, within the context of the Regional Threshold document. -Being proactive in leading initiatives which progress better outcomes for children and families in need of Early Help in Powys. What you will do:
-Contribute to the development and design of frameworks so that there can be an effective analysis of Early Help through the quality assurance framework, and data collection to inform future service planning.
-Developing partnership working and collaboration with a range of services through attending a range of meetings is integral to the role. To include working with partner agencies to identify areas of need / gaps in provision and provide a coordinated delivery of Early Help services. -Reporting quarterly to Welsh Government and working in partnership with Commissioning to ensure that the requirements of the service level agreement are met, in line with grant funding criteria. -Manging a delegated budget, in relation to both grant funding and core budgets.
